Dying Scene Radio is the official podcast of the music/news website, DyingScene.com. This week on Dying Scene Radio: Bob continues to gloat about the fantastic weather in Florida, while Bobby and his bum stay warm from the heater in Bobby’s mom’s car; Bob allows a glimpse into his “sick sociopath” soul as he reveals his fascination for the macabre; and Bobby gives the “all-knowledgable” Bob Noxious a mulligan after he opens his mouth without first checking his facts.

BAND SPOTLIGHT: Russian Girlfriends
The two Bobs speak with Ian, Adam and Colin of the Albequerque-based punk band, Russian Girlfriends, on this week’s DSR “Band Spotlight”. Bob jokes that while researching them on the internet, the first hit asked him for his credit card information. The bandmembers only fuel the jest by admitting that most of their Facebook likes come from middle-eastern men looking for brides. Also, it’s a DSR WORLD PREMIER – debuting an unreleased Russian Girlfriends’ track called “Tad Kuebler”.

Bobby discusses a news story, which inspires Bob to remember his Pirate Radio days. Bob coins the phrase “punk rock ‘Stairway To Heaven’” – alluding to the lengthy NOFX classic, “The Decline”.

Bob takes Bobby to the Punk Rock Academy and gives him an assignment: to find and interview a New York City “Crack Rock” band.

Bobby and the bum take a trip to Warwick, New York to visit the Orange County, NY-based hardcore punk band, Entropy. Bobby interviews bandmates Brian, Brian, Colin and Patrick on-location at Tuscan Cafe, the iconic “vegan-friendly” restaurant where these OCHC punkers once played their first show. They discuss the band’s hardcore roots while expressing disdain for the catchy ska song the group released as a “bonus track” on their latest record. WATCH THE FULL INTERVIEW!

Here is the playlist of this week’s new music.

This week on Dying Scene Radio, Bob Noxious and Bobby Pickles settle into their roles while passively aggressively trying to one-up each other. No one’s eating hot dogs at Coney Island on this episode of the podcast, but there’s plenty of hamburgers and snow in New York City. Bobby takes in a “bum” from off of the streets and mentions that, “they can be quite helpful for the budding entrepreneur.” If only they could edit audio clips…

Bob recalls watching the World Series with Bad Religion’s Brett Guerewitz while challenging the podcast listeners to send Bobby their Top 10 Most Important Punk Bands for him to study up on.

Bob then sits down and chats with the infamous Andrew WK before his performance in St. Petersburg, FL. They discuss recording with LMFAO, self-motivation, how the legendary death metal band Obituary helped form Andrew’s band…and what else? Partying!

Bobby reports on the week’s punk rock news then professes his love for 80′s music icons, Hall & Oates. Much debate ensues on whether Green Day has, or has not, been inducted into the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame. Bobby turns to his bum, Tony, who is quickly proving his worth as a bona-fide fact checker.

BAND SPOTLIGHT: Crime City
This week’s BAND SPOTLIGHT artist is Vancouver-based side project punkers, Crime City, who recently released their self-titled debut EP. Three out of the four capable canucks have a “meeting with the Bobs” to discuss the band’s origins, their obvious comparisons to Propagandhi and the problems faced by Canadian musicians wanting to tour throughout the United States.

Bob also speaks with punk-author, Bob Suren, who will be releasing his first book entitled “Crate Digger: An Obsession with Punk Records” in June 2015 through Microcosm Publishing. The music inspires the memories in this memoir about growing up as a punk rocker, as told through the author’s record collection.

“There’s nothing more punk than podcasting!” – Bobby Pickles

This week on Dying Scene Radio, Bobby prepares for a “blizzard of epic proportions” in Connecticut, while Bob sits at home in Florida wearing shorts and a T-Shirt. Together, they plow through another week’s worth of new music and highlights, as reported by dyingscene.com.

BAND SPOTLIGHT: Things Change
This week’s BAND SPOTLIGHT is on the Canadian punk rock trio, Things Change. Often compared to Small Brown Bike, Hot Water Music and Jawbreaker, Jason Kindrachuk, the band’s guitarist/singer, talks to Bob and Bobby about the band’s origins in the prairies of Regina, Saskatchewan and how each band member migrated individually over 1700 kilometers to reform in Vancouver. The conversation turns to breaking into the Vancouver music scene and how Things Change gained their Facebook following of teenage girls who have recently broken up with their boyfriends.

Bobby gets up close and personal with Damn Broads, an all-female punk band out of Torrington, Connecticut. The interview is conducted on-location at Snapper Magee’s from the stage where the ladies recently shot a new music video for their song, “I’m A Fake”, which can be heard here. While drinking shots of Jameson, these hardcore hunnies talk about playing nazi-bars and writing songs about the Westborough Baptist Church, while Bobby reveals his love and admiration for Mariah Carey…and that was only after the first round! You can watch the interview in its entirety HERE.

…Never forget the BliZZard of 2015.
